Savisto Electric Coffee Grinder UK Review

 March 8, 2017

By  Enda McLarnon

This is my review of the high quality Savisto Electric Coffee Grinder. This is a blade grinder and right now, a well rated choice for many UK buyers.

This grinder is no longer available. We recommend checking out our top 10 list of blade grinders by clicking here.

Overall it is rated at 4.3 out of 5 stars, which is a steady and consistent rating. This grinder can be used to grind coffee beans, nuts, seeds and spices of various types.

As you can see from the image above, this one looks really good, and it is of good quality. The Savisto brand class this grinder in the Premium range, and with stainless steel blades it is good at both chopping and grinding.

It has a transparent lid so as you can see what is going on during the grinding process. It also has 4 solid rubber feet, that stops the grinder from moving about, when the grinder is in use. This model also comes with the Savisto 2-year guarantee.

What Buyers Say About the Savisto High Power Electric Coffee Grinder

Below we have summarised what real life buyers make of this grinder. Overall they rate this Nescafe model as a 4.3 out of 5 star machine. This is based on a 5 star rating system, with 1 being the lowest rating, and 5 stars being the highest.

I have shown the buyer ratings by a percentage split, which I think you may find useful, to see the ratings at a glance.

It is pretty easy to see from these ratings, that 6.5 out of 10 people gave this one the full 5 star rating. Over 84% rated it a 4 star product or higher. Around 7% were clearly not happy with their purchase. Generally speaking though, the majority of buyers were pleased with their purchase.

What Buyers Didn't Like Abut the Savisto Grinder

If the percentage of 1 star reviews is small, I tend to ignore that, as the complaints are normally pretty small. However at 7% that is significant enough to have a more detailed look. So I did and here is what those buyers had to say.

Like many reviews there were a couple of "strange" ones so I have ignored those. The ones that did exist are all about two things. Quite a few buyers said that this does not grind the harder nuts very well. Other buyers said that it took a long time to grind anything and that the grinder got very hot, when trying to grind harder nuts and seeds.

Buyers who made the above comments agreed that this model was good enough at coffee beans. On the harder nuts and spices, they felt it struggled, especially with products like almond nuts. There were not a lot of complaints, but those that I found, were predominantly about grinding hard nuts.

Before diving off into a detailed review, it is worthwhile finding out what this small powerful grinder can actually do.

So now you know what it does, let's take a closer look at some of the details.

Savisto Electric Coffee Grinder Main Review

Overall this is your typical blade grinder that can be used for many common grinding jobs around the kitchen. If you are buying a grinder just for coffee, then I would of course recommend purchasing a burr grinder

These blade grinders will grind coffee beans, and this one does that particularly well. However, these blade style grinders and actually more for general purpose grinding. So although they do a decent job on coffee beans, they can also be used for spices, seeds and nuts.

Who Would Buy the Savisto Electric Coffee Grinder?

Savisto Electric Coffee Grinder for seeds and nuts

Blade grinders of good quality are handy to have in your kitchen. They have many common uses, and of course one of these is grinding coffee beans. This model is what I would class as a good market entry grinder. It does the job well and it is, all things considered, relatively inexpensive.

Burr grinders for coffee are better than these cheaper blade styles. If you plan on regularly grinding coffee on a fairly regular basis, then it is, in my opinion, worth investing a little more in a burr style grinder.

The people who will buy this one will inevitably use it for a variety of purposes. A lot of people seem to use it for dry spices and various seed types. They use this rather than a pestle and mortar. Although those are fun to use, they can take an eternity. Something like this Savisto can truly speed up that process.

My Summary & Verdict on the Savisto Electric Coffee Grinder

If you don't have to grind a lot of coffee, then a blade style grinder will do the job, and the Savisto is as good as many other on the market.  It is also a good buy for anyone who wants a grinder for multi-purposes, such as seeds, grains and beans. It does not appear to do that well with harder nuts.

These blade grinders are noisy so just be aware of that, especially if you plan on making a quiet cup of coffee in the morning.

This product has an RRP of around £18. Most shops and online stores however sell this at around £14-15. Look out for that type of price. If you can find it at that amount of money, then it is a good buy, in my opinion.
