 March 29, 2018

By  Enda McLarnon

This is our review of the highest rated blade grinder that is available in the UK market at the moment. When we did our reviews on the top 5 blade grinders in the UK, this model came out on top.

With an average buyer satisfaction rating of 90% based on 2,500+ online buyers. So clearly this is highly popular with buyers, and if you can find this one for under £25, it is extremely good value for money.

It does however have an RRP of £29.99. We have included an image of the Duronic CG250 Premium just below.

Key Features of the Duronic CG250 Premium Model

There are lots of different blade grinders on the UK market. Primarily people buy these because they are affordable and they can also use them to grind other items like nuts, seeds and spices.

This one according to buyers does a very good job at all of those. Duronic are a global brand based in Romford in the UK, and they have been around since 2005.

It is a brand that has grown quickly and they do make high quality products in quite a few markets. I have shown the size and weight of this model in the image below.

Duronic CG250 specification

Powerful 250 watt motor

With many of these blade style grinders, the one thing that can really struggle is the motor that drives the blade. When the blades have to chop the beans or certain spices, then the power driven to the blades is powered by the motor.

Most of blade grinders on the market use a 150 watt motor. When under pressure these can heat up quickly, and that can actually affect the taste of the bean, as they can get slightly burned.

If you have ever used a grinder before you will understand just how hot these grinders can get. Over time the smaller motors can also burn out. That will not be a problem with this one as the motor is big and powerful.

It is one of the main reasons that this grinder made it to the top of our list.

Amount of Beans it Can Grind

This one has a 75 gram grinding capacity which can then be removed in the stainless steel bowl. As you can remove the bowl it also makes that a great deal easier to clean.

It also has stainless steel blades.

Other Features

There are a few other features worth mentioning.

Easy to Use & Clean

This grinder uses the classic push button method for grinding. You can pulse and also hold during the process. The grinder has a removable container and that makes it easy and fast to clean.

Ready to Use

This one has a clear lid with a grip, and also has rubber feet grips to stop it from sliding around on a worktop or table. It is ready to go on arrival as it comes fitted with a UK plug.

Quiet

No coffee grinder is completely quiet. Buyers do say though, that this one is quieter than most, and again that is down to the power of the motor.

We found this useful video on YouTube, which shows you this grinder in action. This is certainly worth a look, as it takes you through the key features of this popular grinder.

What Buyers Say About the Duronic CG250 Premium

This one is a good quality blade grinder that buyers clearly like, and as I mentioned at the beginning of this review, a great deal if you can get it for less than £25.

Overall this Duronic grinder achieved a pretty amazing 90% customer satisfaction and value for money rating.

What Buyers Liked and Didn't Like

PROS

  • Highest current buyer satisfaction rating and came top of our blade grinder list
  • Feels very powerful and also feels secure when you are using it
  • Looks well and does not take up much space on the worktop
  • It is very easy to use and also very easy to clean as you can remove the small bowl

CONS

  • 3% of buyers said the coarse grind is not coarse enough
  • A few buyers Said it was too much bother to clean

This is in my opinion a high quality good blade grinder for home use. The number of bad reviews was less than 3%, and there were around 85% full 5 star reviews. Clearly buyers are happy.

My Thoughts on the Duronic CG250 Premium 250W Electric Coffee Grinder

It becomes really clear when reading the reviews, that this model is very high quality.

Buyers like it a lot and personally I think the key to its success is having a powerful enough motor, that can really spin the blades very fast.

It has a black plastic housing, looks really well and comes fitted with a UK plug. I am not a huge fan of any plastic container, but this is used as the glass ones can break too easily.

That said, this blade version did come out at number one on the blade grinder list.

This Duronic CG250 gets very high ratings, is certainly good value for money, and is easy to use and to keep clean.
