Krups Twin Blade F20342 Coffee Mill UK Review

 January 11, 2016

By  Enda McLarnon

For around £20 the Krups F20342 twin blade coffee mill model is for certain one of the best value coffee grinders on the market and from the excellent Krups brand.

It has certainly sold in its thousands and that does make it a very popular choice for many people. It has a lot of buyer reviews online from various websites.

It has achieved and maintained a very good rating of 90% buyer satisfaction from actual buyers.

This is as the name would suggest a  blade grinder that uses two stainless steel cutting blades to chop up the beans. Now although not the quality of a burr grinder, it is nonetheless, a grinder that will be able to do a decent job for most people.

It can grind around 75 grams of coffee beans, and that will be enough to make around 15 cups of coffee. The simple rule with these types of grinders is that the longer you grind the beans, then the finer the grind will become.

This same grinder can also be put to use to grind most types of dry spices and food such as sunflower, flax and hemp seeds, oats and peppercorns.

What Buyers Did Not Like About the Twin Blade Coffee Mill

  • You can not set the fineness of the grind - you have to keep checking
  • Some buyers bought this to grind harder spices like cumin and nutmeg and this did a poor job of that
  • Uses a chopping action like all blade grinders, so that does heat up the beans, and that impacts the final quality

Summary & Conclusion

Blade grinders are just not as good as the high quality burr option. They are however a lot cheaper and this one at around £20 does offer very good value for money. We would recommend it to anyone wanting to try out grinding for the first time. It is a good beginner's option.

Krups Model 203-42

Overall this is a very popular choice for many buyers of coffee grinders. That popularity is down to the fact that it does a very good job of grinding coffee, nuts and spaces.

So those attributes along with an affordable price make it a popular choice for many people.

It looks smart, is compact so will not take up much room, and the oval shape makes it comfortable to hold as well.So if you are in the market for a reasonably priced coffee or spice grinder, then this one will do the job for you.

Top Tip

Most buyers strongly advise to clean this one using a dry brush. So rather than washing it after each use, simple get a dry brush and clean out any dust using that. When the inner of this machine gets wet it takes a long time to dry.
