Kabalo Coffee Bean Grinder Specification

Many buyers do like to know the full technical details of any product they are considering buying. We have included that information just below:

  • Measures: 19.2 x 14.4 x 10.8 cm
  • Weighs 662 grams
  • Made from stainless steel - grinder and blade
  • This blade grinder is suitable for grinding coffee for filter coffee, percolators, espresso, and cafetieres
  • It comes with a safety lock lid system so as the grinder can only be activated when the lid is on and secure
  • Has an integrated cord storage
  • It works of a single push pulse function
  • Has a transparent lid so as you can easily look in and see what the grind looks like
  • Uses 150 watts of power
  • Can grind up to 50 grams of beans
  • Comes with a UK 3-pin socket plug
  • Can be used to grind nuts, seeds and of course coffee beans

This is a typical specification for this type of basic blade grinder. At the end of the day these are simply a motor with a blade attached to it, that spins around and chops the beans up.

It is a crude method of grinding but it does get the job done. The good news about this type of grinder is that they are affordable, and there is not really that much mechanically that can go wrong.

Over time though there are two things that will eventually stop working. The motor may burn out depending on how often the grinder is used. More likely though is that the blade will go blunt.

Often, and especially with lesser known brands, it can be very difficult to find a replacement blade. Even if you can, you then have to try and fit it yourself. There would be no point in paying someone to do this, as it would always be cheaper to simply buy another grinder.

The average lifespan of this type of grinder is about 2 years, though it does depend on how much it is used.

Kabalo Grinder vs Similar Grinders

No other blade grinder that we could find could match this one in price. The biggest selling blade grinder, that gets an 86% buyer satisfaction rating is the Andrew James nut and spice grinder, but it is also around £10 more expensive. You can read our review on that one by clicking here.

Consider an Upgrade - Blade to Burr

This grinder is a blade grinder. All blade grinders will grind coffee beans to a certain degree. Burr grinders are always a better but more expensive option.

These blade grinders also work well for herbs, nuts and spices so they are useful and they are usually relatively cheap. (£15-30)

There are two problems with ALL blade grinders:

  1. They heat up if used for too long, and that can burn the coffee grains and beans and leave them bitter
  2. The grounds are usually inconsistent with larger parts of the bean left unchopped and that makes for bad coffee

Burr grinders squeeze the bean and get all the flavour out and give a much better and consistent grind. The downside is that they are more expensive with an average cost of around £45 for a good one.

If you are a coffee lover, then you should always own a burr grinder. We have done a top 10 list here, which you can check out.

Our Verdict on the Kabalo 150W Electric Coffee Bean Grinder

If you are in the market for a cheap coffee grinder, then you will not find one that is much cheaper than this.

Despite its low price, this model still gets very good buyer reviews, and has an average buyer satisfaction rating of 81%.

This is not a well known brand in the UK, but they do sell a wide range of products throughout the world.

If however this is not the blade grinder for you, and you still want to buy a grinder of this type, then check out our top 10 list of blade grinders by clicking here.

Overall though there are enough buyer reviews to know that this Kabalo branded grinder sells really well. The buyer ratings are strong, so overall, this will be a good purchase.

The price is certainly right and is an affordable option for most buyers.
