Cooko Grinder Main Review

This is a manual burr grinder. To make it work, you put the beans into the hopper at the top, and start cranking. This can be a lot of work, and I mean physical work. Some people love using this traditional method of grinding, and as such quite enjoy the process.

Others however do not want the hassle of having to do this, or just don't have the available time. They will prefer to use an electric blade or burr grinder. For those who prefer this manual method, the Cooko model is a good choice.

It is high quality and the majority of buyers rate this product highly, hence the consistent 4.2 out of 5 stars. For a coarse grind, used for brewing methods like the French Press, this can be quickly achieved.

For finer grinds required for espresso, then it takes a heck of a lot more elbow power. Just be aware that with any manual grinder, fine grinds take a long time, typically 10-15 minutes.

This grinder looks great, and comes with two glass jars. Those jars fit neatly inside the actual grinder itself. The grinder sits on a rubber base, and that helps to avoid the grinder slipping when the crank is being turned.

The jars can be used to store the coffee beans, or to briefly store the ground coffee.

One of the best selling points with using hand grinders like this, is that there is no risk of burning the beans. You do get very freshly ground coffee that captures a full flavour.

What Buyers Liked

  • Very neat, tidy and compact
  • Excellent fresh grinds achieved with no burning
  • High quality and good value for money
  • Many people buy this grinder to use it with an Aeropress
  • It can produce coarse grinds quickly but finer grinders take a lot longer

Didn't Like so Much

  • It does need taken apart and cleaned after each use.
  • Takes effort to use the grinder

My Summary of the Cooko Hand Grinder

At the £13-£15 price point, you are getting a quality ceramic burr hand grinder. It is clear that buyers are very satisfied with their purchase, so you should have no regrets, if you decide that this is the one for you.

The glass grinder and jars make this one easy to see when you have ground enough coffee. It also makes this grinder easy to clean and the glass is also very hygienic.

Almost every buyer said that this is great for getting coarse grinds. For many brewing methods that is of course ideal. It is also good at the finer espresso style grinds, but take a bit more elbow power.

If this is not the one for you, then please check out our top 10 list of hand and manual coffee grinders here. Overall though, the Cooko Manual Ceramic Burr Grinder does a very good job. That is why it is such a popular selling product. Good quality at a very good price.
