De Longhi ESAM2600 Caffe Corso UK Review

 October 23, 2018

By  Enda McLarnon

Thanks for taking the time to check out our UK review of the De Longhi ESAM2600 Caffe Corso. This is one of the more affordable options when it comes to buying a bean to cup type of coffee machine.

Now please don't get me wrong as this is still an expensive machine, but it is in the lower price point for a machine that is high quality, and from a well respected and high end coffee brand.

Online buyers rate this machine very highly and overall they have given this one an 88% buyer satisfaction rating. That placed it an number 3 position on our top 10 list of bean to cup coffee machines priced at under £500.

This Caffe Corso model can be used with either coffee beans thanks to the built-in grinder, but can also be used with ground coffee, if you don't want to grind the beans.

The actual boiler that does the bulk of the work is completely removable. That really helps a lot when it comes to cleaning the inside of the machine. There is an adjustable steam option and a milk frother.

It can quickly prepare two cups of coffee at the same time so ideal for couples, or for coffee with a friend.

Who Would Buy the De Longhi ESAM2600 Caffe Corso?

People who understand and love the taste of really fresh coffee are very likely to have a bean to cup machine on their wish list. The price for some of these machines will put many people off.

They can range anywhere between £300-3,000 so never a cheap purchase. This one is certainly at the lower end of that price point scale. It still does a very good job and buyers clearly like it.

A Little About the De'Longhi Brand

This is one of the best known brands when it comes to buying coffee machines. This is an Italian brand and they have been making coffee makers and machines since 1974.

They are known for their high quality design, and also for making high quality products.

What Buyers Said About this Model?

We know from the above satisfaction rating that overall buyers rated this coffee maker with a good score. In this section we look at what the buyers had to say about their rating and why they awarded the score that they did.

We have read the reviews, summarised those and we found the easiest way to present these was in the form of a pros and cons table, which we have included below.

PROS

  • Buyers thought this machine was very good value for money
  • Buyers said it did make great tasting coffee
  • Delivers the coffee really quickly and you can adjust the strength and quality
  • Buyers said it was very easy to clean

CONS

  • A few buyers said it stopped working and had to be returned
  • A few buyers said it was too noisy

At a glance you can see from this that the majority of buyers were satisfied with their purchase. This isn't a high specification machine so not a lot can really go wrong with it.

According to buyers though it does have its limitations such as the amount of water that can be dispensed, and that restricts just how big a coffee you can make.

If you like a big mug of coffee, then there are better choices, which you can find on our main bean to cup page, which you can visit by clicking here.

However, this smaller machine still delivers good coffee.

Our Verdict on this De'Longhi Model

This filter machine came out at number 3 position on our top 10 list of machines costing less than £500.

As we have mentioned this is a very competitive price point for this style of machine, and the brand name is very well known in the world of coffee.

You can fit a standard mug (up to 110 mm high) under this one and that does help a lot. It does take a little time to master the technique of steaming the milk if you want to make lattes etc.

That said, it is the same with all coffee machines and it will take you a few tries to get the coffee that you like to drink.

This machine does of course allow you to do that and it is generally speaking very easy to get used to.

Most of the more expensive bean to cup machines will have more features, but this also makes those more difficult to use. In our opinion this one has enough features to make it more than adequate, and it is affordable and super easy to use.

Buyers said and we agree that this one is also really easy to clean. That is because the boiler can be removed to give you easy access. That along with the automatic descaling program, and the rinse program make this model very easy to maintain and look after.
