Wall Mounted Coffee Grinders

 June 1, 2016

As you may already know coffee grinders come in all shapes and sizes. Finding ones that can be wall mounted though are few and far between. It is actually quite difficult to find any, and the few that do exist, don't get great buyer reviews.

Those almost belong to a bygone era of the typical French cafe. These days those wall mounted grinders that do exist, are more a decorative piece rather than a functional grinder.

So for kitchen design or to create an authentic feel there are some limited options. These are not that practical to use and as such, they are not that good for many kitchens.

There is no question that they look great, but as a practical kitchen appliance, we would not recommend them. As working grinders though, finding any that can be wall mounted is a difficult task.

The French style coffee grinder shown just above is a typical example of one that can be used to help create a certain design impression in a home or even a business.

So for those trying to create a shabby chic or vintage style look, a grinder like this one certainly would tick most boxes. I know of one business that has one of these and it does look really well. It also functions but please do not expect any great results.

It does tick the box as is can be wall mounted as it uses a wooden back board, is made from cast iron and has a glass collection box underneath. It also has the very classic wooden handle which truly sets it off. You can have a closer look on Amazon UK by clicking here.

What Wall Mount Options are Available in the UK Market?

I also checked on eBay to see what was available there and the results are pretty much the same. For those of us who like to grind our own coffee beans, we want a machine that actually works. For that you need either a hand mill, blade grinder or even better a good quality burr grinder.

This all comes down to practicality and I guess also to customer demand. Rather than have a grinder that is permanently on view, most people want something that will grind the beans, and then be put back in a cupboard.

Auctions

I do go to a few auctions and here you can always pick up bargains if you know what to look for. I go to about 20 of these a year. So far, I have never seen a wall mounted coffee grinder. I have seen some older style ones, and they are large and mechanical in nature.

Again these look great but probably look great as something for a coffee shop or indeed in a museum.

Zassenhaus Wall Mounted Coffee Grinder

This one is available at Amazon UK. It is made from stainless steel, and is a classed as a high precision grinder. (The reviews do not agree)

It has a collection container underneath, that uses a magnetic closure. This one looks to be the only one that we can currently find right now. It gets very poor reviews though, so just be aware of that.

If anything changes, we will of course update you.
